Timothy Machin nearly died of frustration
A writer, though no one had heard of him,
He claimed that Shakespeare was a relative – near -
Which, you know, was both sad and absurd of him.

As a junior bard he was quite a retard
And his parents they thought not a lot of him.
They said “you don’t try” and his only reply
So depressed them they quickly got shot of him.

Cast off by his folk and totally broke
He vowed they would one day think well of him
But try as he might he just couldn’t write
- That’s the reason that no-body’s heard of him.

So he worked as a hack, with a genuine lack
Of talent, the critics steered wide of him,
But he managed to cope with great dollops of dope
And Johnny Walker (Black Label) inside of him.
